The £4.6m project to build Creative and Media Skills Centres at Prudhoe and Ridley Hall has been progressing over the past few months. The designs for the new Centre at Prudhoe Community High School have now received planning approval. Work is ongoing with tenders and value engineering and it is still anticipated that building works will commence on site in August 2010. For more information on the Prudhoe Centre, click here.

The designs for the refurbishment of the courtyard at Ridley Hall have been prepared and an application for listed building consent has been made. Following the approval of this application, along with value engineering considerations, a planning application will be made in the summer.

The project will also allow for £150,000 of mobile equipment, enabling all of the Tynedale Virtual College high schools to participate in media projects without the need for routine travel. This equipment will also provide the facility to make outside broadcasts across the area.

All elements of the project remain on schedule to be completed by September 2011.
